The Cardinals scored 339 points to get their 13th-place finish in a race that featured some of the best teams in Division III. Junior Khia Kurtenbach from the University of Chicago took the individual title, completing the 6,000-meter course in 20 minutes, 41.3 seconds.
Freshman
Madelyn Scopp (21:46.6) has been the top runner for North Central all year and led the way once again, finishing 29th in the 263-woman field. Her top-35 finish earned her All-Region Honors.
Finishing behind Scopp was fellow freshman
Alexis Henz (22:32.1) and sophomore
Allyson McLaughlin (22:32.9) with 63rd and 65th place finishes. The final two scorers for the Cardinals was the lone senior competing
Allison Hartman (22:57.1) as well as freshman
Emma Jourdan (23:07.4) coming in 85th and 97th, respectively. Freshman
Julie Kupiec (23:55.8) and sophomore
Payton Hartman (24:04.2) were the last two North Central runners to cross the line, finishing 143rd and 153rd.
With six of their seven runners being underclassmen, the Cardinals looked to gain some experience out of this race, and they did just that.
"I think we have something tangible to put into practice in the off-season now," said head coach
Mahesh Narayanan. "When they go through their off-season goals and objectives, they will know how to prepare better for next year."
The full list of NCAA Division III qualifiers will be released Sunday at noon Central time on ncaa.com.
