Boasting more entrants than any other institution, the North Central College men’s track & field squad will look to capture its first team trophy at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships since 2000, as 13 athletes spread across eight events make the trek to Greencastle, Ind. for the two-day championships beginning on Friday.

With five athletes competing across five events at this weekend’s NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in Greencastle, Ind., the theme for the North Central College women’s track & field team is experience and consistency. All five athletes were a part of last year’s contingent that emerged from Indoor Nationals with a sixth place showing, the Cardinals highest finish at the meet since 1999.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its 2010 Men's Indoor Track & Field Midwest Region Award winners on Wednesday with three of the four award winners hailing from North Central College.
Al Carius was honored as the Head Coach of the Year,
Tim Winder was named Assistant Coach of the Year while
Jake Winder was selected as the Field Athlete of the Year.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its final NCAA Division III National Team Rankings of the regular season on Monday, with the North Central College men's track & field squad rising two spots to claim the No. 1 ranking for the first time this season.

Wrestling
Fitzenreider became North Central College's ninth individual regional wrestling champion on Saturday, winning four straight matches in claiming the 133-pound title at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.
Fitzenreider will be one of four Cardinals competing at the Division III National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mar. 5-6.

Women's Swimming and Diving
Katie Stratton set two school records and won two individual titles at the CCIW Women's Swimming Championships on Feb. 18-20.
Stratton won the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday, establishing a new CCIW and school record in the event after touching the wall in 1:06.19. Stratton would taste victory again on Saturday, winning the 200-yard breaststroke after clocking a school record time of 2:25.91 in the prelims.
The junior became the first Cardinal individual champion since Laurel Liberty won the 200-yard freestyle in 2004.
