WINNECONE, WIS. (Oct. 14, 2017)- In their last meet before they compete for a conference championship, the North Central College women's cross country team finished second in a 24-team field at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational.
The Cardinals scored 116 points, with only St. Norbert College (93) finishing ahead of them. Host University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh finished third (146) and Augustana College (Ill.) came in fourth (150). UW-Oshkosh's Cheyenne Moore won the individual title, crossing the finish line of the 6,000-meter (3.7-mile) course in 22 minutes, 10.3 seconds.
North Central's top finisher was freshman
Madelyn Scopp, scoring a seventh-place finish (23:07.2) in the 353-woman field. Following Scopp were fellow freshmen
Alexis Henz and
Emma Jourdan, finishing 15th (23:36.3) and 27th (24:02.8), respectively. Senior
Allison Hartman and sophomore
Allyson McLaughlin finished the scoring for the Cardinals with 28th (24:03.9) and 60th (24:40.3) place finishes.
North Central takes a week off before competing in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships on Oct. 28th at St. James Farm in Warrenville.
