ELSAH, Ill. (Oct. 14, 2017)- In a race that featured 14 nationally ranked teams and is designated to be the pre-national meet, the No. 1 ranked North Central College men's cross country team dominated the Prinicipia Cowbell Classic, winning the meet by 103 points.
The Cardinals finished with 47 points while the No. 2 ranked team in the nation, SUNY Geneseo, finished in a distance second with 150 points. Pomona-Pitzer College, ranked No. 5, took third (156) in the meet and No. 11 Loras College took fourth (181). SUNY Geneseo had the top individual finisher, with Isaac Garcia-Cassani finishing the 8,000-meter (five-mile) course in 24 minutes, 41.02 seconds.

Dhruvil Patel led the way for North Central, finishing in second place with a time of 24:41.97. The Cardinals other four scorers were not far behind, with freshman
Jared Borowsky taking seventh (25:10.32), senior
Dan O'Keefe in 10th (25:13.04), junior
Zach Hird in 13th (25:27.72), and junior
Matt Norvell rounding out the scoring in 15th (25:30.86).
The Cardinals look to continue their momentum and bring home their 44th consecutive College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship on Oct. 28th at St. James Farm in Warrenville.
