JOLIET, Ill. (Oct. 1, 2011) - In its final tune-up before the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships, the North Central College women's golf team braved an afternoon of strong winds and posted a two-stroke victory in the University of St. Francis Lady Saints Classic at Inwood Golf Course.

The 24th-ranked Cardinals topped the seven-team field with a score of 333, two strokes better than the host institution. North Central also brought home the individual championship, as Mallory Carr carded a 79 to top the field.

Mary Kate Rohn turned in a score of 83 for the Cardinals to place fifth, while Marisa Miko placed ninth with 85 and Kayla Hutcherson finished 12th with 86. 

The CCIW Championships will be held Oct. 6-8 at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa, hosted by Augustana College.
