OAK BROOK, Ill. (Apr. 26, 2010) - The North Central College men's golf team began the final week of the 2010 spring season on Monday at the Elmhurst College Invitational, placing sixth out of six teams at Oak Brook Golf Club.
The Cardinals, with top golfer
Nick Guido sitting out in preparation for this weekend's College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships, turned in an 18-hole total of 324. Elmhurst won the event with a score of 304, outdistance runner-up Benedictine University by three strokes.
Carthage College's Scott Shiple was the individual medalist with a one over-par score of 73.
Cole Oosthuizen and
Brendan Chaves were North Central's top finishers, each tying for 20th with a total of 80.
Matt Grennell and
Thomas Walker tied for 33rd, each carding a score of 82, to round out North Central's scoring.
The final two rounds of the CCIW Championships will be played Friday and Saturday at Bolingbrook Golf Club.
