Apr. 26, 2010 - The North Central College football program has announced the commitment of 33 student-athletes to play for the Cardinals next season.

Several recruits have visited campus since committing to view the Cardinals' spring workouts, and are anxious to get on campus for the beginning of camp Aug. 14.

"This has the potential to be the best recruiting class we've had in my eight years here," said head coach John Thorne. "We are still in the process of talking to several recruits, so we're not there yet. We needed to get some more size on the line, as well as some more speed, and we certainly think we've succeeded in both areas.

"In every class we've had, there are a handful of recruits who end up being significant contributors their first year, and we're looking forward to seeing which of these individuals are able to do that this year."

The Cardinals' spring workouts, which will be held Apr. 27-29, May 4-6, and May 11-13 from 4 to 6 p.m., are open to the public.
