Apr. 13, 2010-- North Central College's Lauren Schramm has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin softball Hitter of the Week after going 10-for-15 at the plate and helping the Cardinals sweep all three doubleheaders during the week.

Schramm hit .667, driving in 10 runs and helping the Cardinals finish the week undefeated at 6-0. In the conference opener against Elmhurst, the outfielder blasted a double and a home run in game one, finishing two-for-three at the plate with three RBIs. Two days later against Beloit, Schramm tallied her third home run of the season while plating another double, finishing three-for-three at the plate with five RBIs.
 
For the week, the junior was 10-for-15 from the plate, recording five extra base hits and scoring six runs, concluding the week with a slugging percentage of 1.267. Defensively, Schramm had nine putouts in the field while committing no errors.

On the year, Schramm is hitting .531 since getting inserted into the line-up on Mar. 30 against Benedictine and is currently on a nine-game hitting streak.

The Cardinals (20-4, 4-0 CCIW), winners of 11-straight games, face North Park University today at 3 p.m. in a doubleheader at the Holmgren Complex.
