NSCAA Team Academic Award Winners
Nov. 17, 2010-- For the fourth straight year, the North Central College women's soccer team has been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, earning the Team Academic Award for its outstanding performance in the classroom in 2009-2010.
The Cardinals compiled a 3.30 team grade-point average during the 2009-2010 academic year, securing the Team Academic Award for the fourth straight season. In total, 436 women's teams across all three NCAA divisions were honored by the NSCAA, including four of the eight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin institutions. Illinois Wesleyan University, Millikin University and North Park University all received citations for their outstanding academic performance.
To qualify for the NSCAA Team Academic Award, teams must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and their institutions must be current NSCAA College Services members.
North Central finished the 2010 season with a 7-8-2 overall record and a 1-4-2 mark in CCIW play, finishing the year with a four-game unbeaten streak.
