Sept. 11, 2009 -
The North Central College women's lacrosse team has received team and individual academic honors for the 2009 season from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

North Central was among 62 NCAA Division III institutions to be named an IWLCA Academic Squad. Teams that qualified for the honor had a collective grade-point average of 3.0 or greater during the academic year.

Two North Central players, Amber Cibrario '09 and Kim Justice '09, were among 407 student-athletes throughout all three divisions of the NCAA to be named to the IWLCA's Scholar-Athlete squad. Nominees considered had a GPA of at least 3.5 or were in the top 10 percent of their team.

The 2009 season was the first competitive campaign for the Cardinals, who will open the 2010 season in March.
