Complete All-Academic Team List

July 10, 2009-- The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2009 Division III All-Academic Track and Field team's on Thursday, with the North Central College women's team earning the award for the third straight season.

The Cardinals compiled a 3.241 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), improving on last season's 3.217. To be eligible for the award team's must carry a minimum GPA of 3.10.

Four of the eight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin institutions made the cut. Joining North Central on the list was Illinois Wesleyan University, Augustana College and North Park University.

The award comes after eight Cardinals earned individual All-Academic honors earlier this week. Annie Adamson, Samantha Bunsen and Tristan Theissing all earned All-Academic honors for the first time in their careers while Lauren Brightmore, Michelle Criscione, Carolyn Kalafut, Yvonne Palmer and Melissa Savino all earned the award for the second consecutive season.

North Central finished the 2009 season sixth overall at the NCAA Indoor Championships and 18th in the NCAA Outdoor Championships while finishing runner-up at both the indoor and outdoor College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship meets.
