North Central College's Kelli Lofgren was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Softball Hitter of the Week after posting an impressive .727 batting average last week; helping the Cardinals conclude their spring break trip in Tucson, Ariz. on a three-game winning streak.

After making her Cardinal debut as a pinch-runner against Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on March 21, Lofgren caught fire, recording a hit in each of her next four games, ending the week eight-for-11 at the plate. In the team's 15-5 win over Saint Olaf on March 24, Lofgren was three-for-three, driving in five runs and scoring another two. The junior was two-for-two the following day in the Cardinals 4-0 win over Buena Vista University (Iowa), recording her third straight multi-hit game. Lofgren ended the week hitting two doubles, driving in seven runs and sporting a .750 on-base percentage.

North Central (6-4) opens up CCIW play on Thursday, April 2, with a doubleheader at Wheaton College. The Cardinals open up their home schedule on Saturday, April 4, hosting both Calvin College (Mich.) and the University of Chicago at Shanower Field. First pitch on Thursday is slated for 3 p.m. while Saturday's games begin at 1 p.m.
