Mar. 14, 2009 -- Matt Boguslawski has been named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Tennis Player of the Week after winning both his matches in North Central College's 6-3 win over Augustana College in the conference opener.

Playing in the No.1 doubles position, Boguslawski and his partner Sam Sweeney picked up the 8-6 win over the Vikings tandem of Chris Mullin and Adam DeSimone, helping the Cardinals earn a clean sweep of the doubles matches. It was the duo's second straight win, improving their season mark to 3-1.

In singles, the freshman rallied after dropping the first set to pull out the 4-6, 7-5, (10-4) victory over Greg Ruth in the No. 2 position, evening his season record at 2-2.

Boguslawski is the second North Central netter to win the award this season as Sweeney captured the award for the week of February 17.

The Cardinals return to the court on Friday, March 20, facing Endicott College (Mass.) at Orange Lake Country Club in Orlando, Fla.
