NAPERVILLE, Ill. (April 15, 2008) - Jenna Prieto (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) was nominated College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Week for her performances against Elmhurst College (Ill.) and Millikin University (Ill.). Elmhurst College's (Ill.) Amanda Bowlin was also named CCIW Hitter of the Week.

Prieto again finished a week 2-0 pushing the Cardinals record up to 15-6 as she gave up only one earned run in 14 innings against CCIW opponents Millikin University (Ill.) and Elmhurst College (Ill.).  The 9-1 Prieto struck out five and did not issue a walk while giving up only five hits to the 53 batters she faced.  Prieto holds a 1.97 ERA for the Cardinals, leading the team in strikeouts (42) over 64 innings pitched.

Bowlin, a freshman outfielder from Ballwin, Mo., led the Bluejays to a 3-1 record last week while posting a team-high .571 average. Bolin recorded eight hits in 14 at bats. She scored four runs and drove in three. In the Bluejays' series against North Central, Bowlin finished five-of-6 at the plate. She drove in both of the team's runs in a 4-2 loss in game one. In game two, she hit a lead-off triple in the seventh inning and scored the winning run in Elmhurst's 1-0 win. She posted three hits in eight at bats in the Bluejays' doubleheader sweep of Benedictine on Monday. She scored a pair of runs and recorded two hits in Elmhurst's 9-6 extra inning win in game one. She drove in a run in the Bluejays' 14-6 win in game two.
