APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR 2010-2011 STUDENT-ATHLETE MENTORS
Do you think you've got what it takes to be a SAM at North Central College? Please complete the
application no later than Wednesday, March 17 - all applicants will have a short interview the week of March 29 (first week of spring term).
The Student-Athlete Mentors (SAMs) at North Central College work with first year student-athletes during their first year at North Central College. SAMs are the primary facilitators for "Varsity Course", a 10-week seminar taken by all first year student-athletes during the fall term of each academic year.
Students who participate in the SAM program are selected by their coaches, teammates, faculty mentors and athletics administration. Students must be in good academic standing to be considered; in addition, students must also complete a short personal interview. Stevie Baker-Watson and Lauren Palmer, assistant women's basketball coach serve as advisors for the group.
