FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Dec. 13, 2011)-- The North Central College swimming team's training trip culminated  with a dual meet against Olivet College (Mich.) on Tuesday at the International Hall of Fame Pool. The Cardinal women claimed seven events but suffered a 124-116 setback while the Comets rolled to the 120-41 win on the men's side.

Katie Stratton highlighted the day for the Cardinals, winning four events. Stratton prevailed in the 50-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 31.69 seconds before capturing the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.35. The junior claimed the 100-yard individual medley (1:02.81) before collaborating with Kelsey Truedson, Loreli Patschke and Kelsey Tumpane to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:55.77.

Truedson tallied a pair of individual victories, prevailing in the 50-yard backstroke (29.19) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.85).

Tumpane won the 100-yard butterfly, stopping the clock in 1:02.73 while Patschke was second in 1:06.14. Patschke additionally placed runner-up in the 50-yard backstroke (29.64) while Katie Zumpf finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:06.36).

On the men's side, Ross Artley was the top non-exhibition swimmer in the 10-yard individual relay, clocking a 58.72 while additionally placing second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.40) and third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.12).

Jake Nurczyk was the top non-exhibition swimmer in the 50-yard butterfly (26.23) while finishing third in the 50-yard free (26.66) and 100-yard free (55.42).

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Jan. 7, hosting Monmouth College (Ill.) at the Merner Field House Pool in a dual meet beginning at 12 p.m.
