BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (May 1, 2010) - Spearheaded by a third-place finish from from junior
Nick Guido, the North Central College men's golf team placed fifth at the 2010 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships, the final two rounds of which were hosted on Friday and Saturday at Bolingbook Golf Club.
The Cardinals finished the 72-hole event with a score of 1275, including a total of 656 over the final two rounds. Illinois Wesleyan University won the team title with a score of 1217, which kept the Titans 26 strokes clear of runner-up Millikin University.
IWU's Ryan Dorner won the individual conference championship, as his score of 297 edged out teammate Matt Wennemaker by one stroke. Guido was six strokes off the pace, shooting a final-round score of 72 to post a total of 303.
Steven Panek tied for 23rd place with a score of 325, while
Joshua Brantner tied for 26th (328) and
Brendan Chaves was 28th (329).
