Apr. 7, 2010 - The North Central College men's golf team hosted its lone home event of the spring on Tuesday, placing third in a triangular event against Carthage College and Benedictine University at Cress Creek Country Club.
Carthage won the 18-hole event with a score of 318, with Benedictine just two strokes back at 320 and North Central posting a total of 334. Benedictine's Jake Kuper, competing as an individual, was the individual medalist with a one under-par total of 71.
The Cardinals'
Nick Guido finished in a three-way tie for second place in the individual standings, as he matched Carthage's Ben Schroeder and Benedictine's R.J. Schwalbach with a score of 77.
Steven Panek finished 15th with a score of 83, while
Matt Grennell was 18th (86) and
Brendan Chaves# placed 19th.
North Central travels to Highland Springs Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill., for the Augustana College Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
