WHEATON, Ill. (Feb. 6, 2010)-- Katie Stratton recorded a pair of top three finishes as the North Central College women's swimming team suffered a pair of defeats at the hands of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin rivals in a double-dual at Chrouser Natatorium. The short-staffed Cardinals fell 184-44 to Illinois Wesleyan University and 170-48 to host Wheaton College.

Stratton swam to the victory in the 100-yard breaststroke for the Cardinals' lone event win, clocking a season-best time of 1:08.77. Stratton would also swim to a third place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, hitting the wall in a season-best effort of 2:16.20.

Emily Schaub notched a third place showing in the 100-yard freestyle while Kelsey Tumpane recorded three top five finishes on the afternoon. Tumpane placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.61) before registering her best finish of the day in the 200-yard butterfly, turning in a runner-up finish. The sophomore clocked a 2:25.87 in the event before closing out the afternoon with a third place showing in the 200-yard individual medley (2:27.49).

The Cardinals return to the pool on Friday, September 12, hosting Wheaton College in a dual meet at the Merner Field House Pool. Races are slated to begin at 5 p.m.
