Youel Named CCIW Co-Wrestler of the Week

Gabe Youel has been honored by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin as its Co-Wrestler of the Week for Jan. 25-31.
Youel, who shares this week's award with Mark Corsello of Elmhurst College, won four straight matches en route to the 184-pound championship at the Wheaton College Pete Willson Invitational. He is the tournament's first four-time champion since the event's namesake, Pete Willson, in 1950.
Youel has an overall record of 26-3 this season and is ranked third nationally in Division III at 184 pounds by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. He is the third Cardinal to receive Wrestler of the Week honors this season, joining teammates
Nathan Fitzenreider and
J.T. Rowe.
North Central (12-5-1) hosts Wheaton in a dual meet on Thursday. Action is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
