RIVER FOREST, Ill. (Oct. 25, 2009) -- Nico Galto and
William Blaszak each tallied a goal and an assist, guiding North Central College to the 3-0 victory over Concordia University Chicago in a non-conference men's soccer match at Cougar Stadium.
Galto opened the scoring in the 18th minute, converting off an assist from Blaszak for his seventh goal of the year. Blaszak scored his first goal of the season in the 76th minute, courtesy of a Galto assist, pushing the visiting Cardinals lead to 2-0.
Paul Dreyer tacked on the game's third and final goal in the 83rd minute after converting on a penalty kick. It was Dreyer's first score of the season.
North Central outshot Concordia Chicago by a commanding 21-12 margin.
Goalkeeper
Phillip Klipp stopped five shots on the afternoon to pick up his second shutout of the season while the Cougars' Michael Warren and John Gehm each took a half in goal, combining for seven saves.
With the win, North Central improves to 8-9 overall while the Cougars fall to 4-13-1. The Cardinals close out the season on Saturday, October 31 taking on North Park University at 1 p.m. inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
